Microsoft Certification...question?

Hello all,

Does anyone know about the MS certification process?

I did some work toward my Microsoft MCSE cert, about 5 years ago and never quite finished. I was thinking of completing it in the next couple of months.

While recently looking at the MS site, Looks like MS has once again come up with some new verbiage, and have these new so called ''specialist'' certs. Should I pursuit one of these instead, or what?

Do you think it makes a difference if on even has any Cert? I have noticed that a lot of the certs don鈥檛 even matter to businesses that are not in the I.T. business. They don't even know what a MCSD is for example. What do you guys think, and should I continue to pursuit certs?

Thanx for you input,

JW.

While the MS certifications don't mean that much, it's definitely a plus to have them. That way you ''prove'' to the company that you know your MS products. Then again, it's easy to prepare for the exams and then to forget the content. I've also noticed lots of companies (not only IT) ask for it. If you have the time to study, go get them.

in the nowadays society, it really depends what kind of industry are you currently working in.

i have the same situation like you, i'm an american chinese, have been living in hong kong for ages %26 i.t people are demanding here. it'll be nice if you obtained those certificates, you can compete with others
It makes somewhat of a difference,I'm going to school for Net tech cert. and a instructor tells me that some jobs ask for those MCSD ,it all depends on you and what you want to pursue.
