Microsoft service pack?

my comcast cable modem drop connection every second. Does this have to do with Microsoft service pack problems. I have service pack 2 in my computer. Comcast says everything on their end is fine. Dont know where to go on this. Any help will be appreciated.

if you keep losing the connection you may have several problems, most likely it is with your connection settings, you may have it selected to ''hang up'' when no longer needed...you may have outlook or outlook express running in the background and have that program set to ''disconnect'' after send/receive...if its the modem itself that is dropping the connection it could be a synch issue with your line, in that caqse you may need to get areplacement modem or have Comcast ''balance'' your account and possibly repair the line. If its a matter of pages not opening, or you keep getting the 404 page, it could be a DNS error and thats why its not surfing.....try typing in an ip address in the address bar and see if it goes, i.e. 64.233.161.104 is Google.
No. It is not a service pack or windows problem
This is a rather complicated answer, but considering I've used Comcast for a year before I got rid of them -- I might be able to help you.

First, if you are in an apartment complex, most likely you are experiencing a problem with the wiring on the outside. Most comcast cable installers do not properly secure the lines so that they won't be damaged to the nth degree.

Secondly, before you assume it's that -- check the connection in your house/apartment to see if everything is working.

Third, if everything is fine inside the house/apartment -- assume it's the wiring outside that's come undone and contact comcast to get a tech out there.
