I cannot check right at the moment, but as I can remember I think that you can do it by selecting Object from the Insert menu. Then a new smaller window will appear on your screen. From the list Object type choose Microsoft Equation 3.0. This software should be installed on your PC (which is usually installed) if you want to insert mathematical symbols and equations.

Microsoft Word...?computer security

go to

Insert --%26gt; Symbols..

there a list of symbols shown.
You have to copy if from 'Character Map' in Windows then paste it into word.

Click on 'start', 'programs', 'accessories', 'system tools'

select character map.

Choose the font 'symbol' then choose the character then copy it.

Go to word and paste
Choose the symbol font (symbol.ttf) and type: '' (double quotation mark) or Alt+0034.
