Microsoft security center help?????

why is it that every time i check my Microsoft security center, and i check under firewall it says more than 1 is turned on when in fact i only have 1 on.(yes, the windows firewall is off). Then when i check under anti-virus it says more than 1 is turned on. Y is that and how can i correct this??



p.s. I previously had uninstalled both an anti virus and a firewall too.

if you have more that one fire wall on your system but only one of them are currently turned on you may still have this problem, to stop it you must delete the others from your system. including desk top, add remove programs and any other place you may have this stored, if you don't want to completely take one of them from your system then put one in the recycle bin

Perhaps it is still recognizing the other firewall. Sometimes even though uninstall programs certain .exe's can still run(the uninstall wasnt performed properly, not your fault it happens). try turning back on your MS center firewall and if it asks you if you are sure you want it to be your default firewall select yes(because you say you only have one which i am assuming is your MS firewall). If after the change another program pops up asking you if you want to change firewalls you can pinpoint where the other firewall is coming from. Hope that helps.
