Microsoft laptop version???

im not really an expert at computers but i have been searching for a good low priced laptop for school which has microsoft WORD, POWERPOINT, and EXCEL at least. i dont know the exact terms for this, but what should i get? im mean like XP, vista, etc. and what kind of processor do you recomend and how much memory becuase im going to be using this primarily for school and internet. thanks alot.

I would suggest you look for a laptop with Windows XP if you want a low cost laptop and try to find one with at least 512mb of RAM and a 40gb hard drive. This will give you enough performance for Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint. I would not suggest Vista for you because Vista does require more advanced laptops with more power. For what you need XP is just fine.

just find a low priced laptop with windows xp Pro on it and that will cover what you need.
Maybe you can get an used laptop...(Quite scary)



load it with XP (Home or Pro)



load it with Office 2003 Pro



(Basic don't got powerpoint)



for processor, try Intel type 'cause it gives you more battery life and throw away vista 'cause it's a power eater.
most new laptops will only offer vista... any will work for what you want to use it for, and then some...
