I run Spybot and results are: Microsoft.WindowsSecurityCenter_disabled... Settings (Registry change, nothing done)

''HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentContro... (without quotes).

I fix problem using spybot but it comes right back and I can't get updates from microsoft. When I run an update it tells me it can't assess page.

first set spybot to ignor those entries. next contact ms, as you have lost some file you need. but think it s other software causing the problem. scan for spyware/malware.

You can ignore (or have Spybot ignore) this entry. It appears because you have some other security program (McAfee, Norton, AVG) monitoring your computer's security instead of using Windows Security Center. But this isn't the cause of you not being able to run Windows Updates. Instead of initiating Windows Updates from your Start menu, try to instead go to www.microsoft.com, search for Windows Updates, and access their update site from there. You could also check your computer's time and time zone to make sure they are correct. And does Spybot turn up anything else besides this windowssecuritycenter item? Do you run a virus scan and has it found anything?
